LO4 - Post-Production - Process report (P6,M3)

For both of my Idents, I have posted it on YouTube. As you can see, I have uploaded it on YouTube, and I have chosen the setting of it being "Yes, it's for kids" since my channel Tiny Pop is based for kids. In my screenshot there is multiple of other ways where I have made sure that when I am uploading both of my Idents, they're done well to the best quality being SD and HD having 1080p the highest quality. This is so that the whole of the Ident is seen and it's not bad at all.

 

LO4 - Post-Production - Sound report (P6,M3)

Here is me recording the narrative for both idents. I've made them 25 seconds each giving time for the ending tiny pop children shouting narrative for the ending. I've recorded multiple versions on voice recorder.  

For ident 2 I have added an Elmo AI effect to sound effect to the audio recording. This is so that the Ident has a character's voice which will be much more enjoyable to appeal the audience's eye. What I have done is I imported the narrative then selected Elmo's model voice. Afterwards I imported it, then added it to my Ident. 

For ident 1 I have added Twilight Sparkle AI effect to sound effect to the audio recording. This is so that the Ident has a character's voice which will be much more enjoyable to appeal the audience's eye. What I have done is I imported the narrative then selected Twilight Sparkle's model voice. Afterwards I imported it, then added it to my Ident. 

With my Ident at certain times I turned up and down the narrative due to it having higher wave points making hit louder. How I did it was on after effects I went on L which is audio levels and changed the levels to my desired points.

I was able to collect feedback from my teacher and understand what I need to do to make buy Ident better:

Ident 1

• Try not to use the ending My Little Pony part since it doesn't make sense 
• Add a voice over, kids maybe (I'll add AI voice over)
• The characters transitions on time

Ident 2

• Isn't it supposed to be night time? re film the background ton be night time  
• What could I add to make it different? new nighttime music and new characters
• Add kids voices, voice over

To improve my Ident I will use my teachers feedback and make it the best as my ability.

Below are photos showing proof of me throughout the weeks, during the production process.

I went home and started filming the sunset and sunrise. I got the tripod and opened it then I placed the camera onto the tripod. I turned the camera on and set up the right placements to where I would like to film then I started filming making sure all the settings were perfect.

This is me filming the sun shining on a nice sunny day. I got a tripod out and use the phone stand and put it on the tripod. Then I put the phone on the phone stand and started filming.

From my audience feedback, I've discovered what went well with my ident and what improvements are needed to be done.

Ident 1

What went well?

• The music selected for my ident goes well
• The ident wasn't random
• The music selected suited the ident. 

What needs to be improved?

• The music shouldn't have cuts so make it longer 
• Add a VoiceOver  (use AI character voice)
• The characters need more transitions for when they popup 
• Smoother transitions
• Add a variety of different characters 

Ident 2

What went well?

• The Timelapse of the sky slowly getting darker
• The ident wasn't random and made sense
• The music was good 

What needs to be improved?

• Have the music not cut out
• Adding different characters than Ident 1 
• Add a VoiceOver (use AI character voice)
• Smoother transitions

When considering the improvements of the idents I am going to only improve the following:

Ident 1 

• T
• Add a VoiceOver  (Use AI character voice)
• The music needs to not have cuts
• Smoother transitions

Ident 2

• Try and make the background darker to suit it being sunset to dark
• Variety of different transitions used
• The music needs to not have cuts
• Add a voiceover 

Reasons why I decided not to improve the other improvements: 

The reasons why I had to not use some of the other improvements since I will not have time to change a lot since the deadline for the Idents are soon. However I am able to use majority of the improvements and use them to my advantage to make the best ident to the best of my ability. Both idents have similar improvements which I am able to use to my advantage since I can make them similar but very different at the same time.

LO4 - Post-Production - Edits and Transitions report (P6)

Ident 2:

Importing all the scenes in by file, import and selecting the clips I want to add. Then I go on effects and presents then add Key Light. I select the green colour at the back then remove it creating the background to whatever I desire it to be. (The sun set). Then I add transitions with position and changing the position to whatever I would like. To make the transitions smoother I would add speed graphs with an In and out graph for the start and finish with some motion blur.

 

When rendering the edit I would go to file, render. I would choose the most suitable options for the rending process to make the Ident the best quality that I could do. After everything has been rendered, I go to Handbrake and render everything there as well to render every frame into a video of my desire. The size, the quality etc. 

Ident 1:

Using the masking tool to mask the tiny pop logo so that it's animated and has some sort of movements like shown from the previous Idents from Tiny Pop.

Importing the sunshine background by going to file import on After Effects. Then I go to effects and presents and add Twixtor Pro to slow down the background, which will be much smoother than slowing down the video since with Twixtor it blends all the scenes together to give a smoother effect and a longer timelapse.

LO2 - Legal, moral and ethical issues (P3, M2)

What is Legal, moral and ethical issues in media products?

Legal issues - When planning my product, I need to take into consideration the regulation issues such as the legal issues. If I don't take them into account, then it could impact my media product.  

Moral and ethical issues - Moral issues is when someone has their own personal preference. Ethical issues are when someone has values in society. 

When filming my Ident, I need to take into consideration:

Ident 1:

• Legal issues - For an example copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patents act 1988), I need to make sure I don't use copyrighted music. A way I'll be considering this is by not using copyrighted music and use previous tiny pop music or a song that won't get me copyrighted or any images that are copied.
• Moral and ethical issues - For an example when filming my idents, I need to take into consideration the genders. Making sure it doesn't offend anyone's but is also welcoming for anyone. 

Ident 2:

• Legal issues - For an example the copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patent act 1988), I need to make sure with the green screens I use the accrue characters from the channel Tiny Pop and not anywhere else. Since I won't get copyrighted for copying or stealing anything.
• Moral and ethical issues - I need to make sure that when filming my ident I'm not offending anyone with any race since young kids will be watching this ident. The music won't offend anyone and be suitable for the target audience.

Ofcom

Ofcom is responsible for regulating television idents. Ofcom has specific guidelines which every programme, channel anything shown on the TV is suitable for the audience in the UK. For an example certain ident for certain movies may not be shown since it may not be suitable for a younger audience since the ident may have harmful content or anything inappropriate. 

On Ofcom here is what might impact both of my idents:
