Honesty

Making sure that the music is copyright free and the cartoon characters from Tiny Pop are actually from the programmes there.

I will research the tiny schedule of Tiny Pop and see what programmes are on. I’ll either research previous ident music and look at copyright free music.

I will select the music I will use and the characters for the Ident.

I will credit the owner of the music when I finish my Idents.

Transparency

I will make sure that my Ident shows it’s for the target audience (a children channel) and represents it throughout.

I will research what programmes are shown on Tiny Pop since in my Ident i’ll be including characters from them.

When producing the Idents i’m also representing what time of day it is which means that one ident is filmed in the morning and the other one is filmed at night.

When editing I will make sure I add the characters from the programmes and also add the Tiny Pop logo at the end.

Privacy

I will not mention anyone who has given feedback for my Idents since they may not want to be mentioned.

I will think about who I will want to ask to give audience feedback.

I will get a group together and ask them if they want me to share any information about them.

When collecting the audiences feedback and applying it to my work I will make sure I don’t mention any information about who gave the feedback.

I will show the audience the offline edit of my Ident, and get the feedback.

Teacher

My teacher has helped me naked the Idents and has given me tasks to complete

My teacher will give me tasks and tell me what to do during the production.

My teacher will check my work and give me feedback on how to improve my work. Also how I'm able to make it better.

My teacher will watch the final edit and tell me what I have to do in post production

Competitors

Research about the competitors Idents and see what aspects they have in theirs. What I could add to mine to make mine better than theirs.

LO2 - Legal, moral and ethical issues (P3, M2)

 PG 33 AND 244

What is Legal, moral and ethical issues in media products?

Legal issues - When planning my product, I need to take into consideration the regulation issues such as the legal issues. If I don't take them into account, then it could impact my media product.

Moral and ethical issues - Moral issues is when someone has their own personal preference. Ethical issues are when someone has values in society.

When filming my Ident, I need to take into consideration:

Ident 1:

  • Legal issues - For an example copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patents act 1988), I need to make sure I don't use copyrighted music. A way I'll be considering this is by not using copyrighted music and use previous tiny pop music or a song that won't get me copyrighted or any images that are copied.
  • Moral and ethical issues - For an example when filming my idents, I need to take into consideration the genders. Making sure it doesn't offend anyone's but is also welcoming for anyone.

Ident 2:

  • Legal issues - For an example the copyright (Copyright, Designs and Patent act 1988), I need to make sure with the green screens I use the accrue characters from the channel Tiny Pop and not anywhere else. Since I won't get copyrighted for copying or stealing anything.
  • Moral and ethical issues - I need to make sure that when filming my ident I'm not offending anyone with any race since young kids will be watching this ident. The music won't offend anyone and be suitable for the target audience.

Ofcom

Ofcom is responsible for regulating television idents. Ofcom has specific guidelines which every programme, channel anything shown on the TV is suitable for the audience in the UK. For an example certain ident for certain movies may not be shown since it may not be suitable for a younger audience since the ident may have harmful content or anything inappropriate.

On Ofcom here is what might impact both of my idents:

  • Misrepresentation
  • Protection of under 18s
  • Copyright
